Uranus is essentially chaotic neutral, but depending on the conditions of your birth chart and how current planets are triggering it Uranus can be chaotic good or chaotic bad. It’s the first planet we couldn’t see with the human eye and was founded in 1781 by Sir William Herschel with a telescope. The American Revolution started in 1775, the French Revolution in 1789 and the Haitian Revolution in 1791. During 15th-19th centuries roughly 13 million Africans were kidnapped, trafficked, enslaved and murdered during the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

The modern discoveries of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto represented a new take on how astrologers defined the quality, character and archetype of a planet. Thus far, traditional planets took on meaning from their astronomy and mythological counterpart. Uranus was the first planet that the historical context it was found during became incorporated in its narrative and personality. Due to being found during revolutionary times such as when enslaved people took arms against their enslavers or chose a watery death over coming to the “New World,” Uranus was conceptualized to represent liberation, radicalism, rebellion, upheaval, chaos, acceleration and unorthodoxy. Because Uranus was found with modern technology it represents individuation, experimentation, innovation, the future, perception-altering technology and originality. This is why Aquarius is sometimes described as a “mad scientist” type. Aquarius’s modern ruler is Uranus and traditional ruler is Saturn. In my practice I recognize both with more emphasis on Saturn, but Uranus is still so important to look at! If Saturn is our limitations and restrictions, Uranus is breaking free from those chains.
Uranus entered Gemini July 7th at 12:45 am PT time. An interesting way to understand the relationship between Uranus in the Mercury ruled sign of Gemini is that in medical astrology Mercury and Uranus are both related to the nervous system. Uranus represents the electrical impulses of the nervous and circulatory systems, inspired by the many lightning storms that occur on the planet. Mercury is also related to the nervous system, the brain, respiratory system and organs pertaining to speech and hearing. The energy of both these planets is very high and fast, constant movement, high up in the body, swirling in the head. Uranus loves how Gemini is quick with it, curious, exploratory, silly, interested in so many different subjects and motivated to learn.
These energies have more in common than they don’t. I suggest grounding as much as possible in the Earth, sourcing energy from Earth, getting a massage, walking barefoot, gardening, herbalism, whatever gets you rooted somatically and in relationship to our beautiful Mother Earth.

-New forms of air travel, however, of course no equitable access to it
-Cryptocurrency that actually rivals the US dollar
-Education in the country permanently changed, considering recent times, in an awful way
-The end of public television, radio, medio made by and for regular people (we are currently seeing the defunding and closure of PBS and NPR). For more context the last time Uranus was in Gemini in the 40s we saw the first commercial television broadcast.
