We live in a settler-colonialist, cisheteropatriarchial, and capitalistic society. 

In order to liberate Earth from humankind’s exploitation and destruction we must liberate ourselves from the insidious forms of oppression we perpetuate and internalize. We can clearly see what 500+ years of this society has given us. We must start with ourselves before we can transform societally. I am committed to a lifelong examination of my ego and a refusal to ever let my biases overpower my heart or mind.  I am an Afro-Taíno Puerto Rican queer agender disabled person who has the privileges of a lighter complexion, citizenship, education and speaking English as a primary language. I believe a liberatory world is possible and necessary. I recognize and honor your identities, intersections and positionality. 

You are the expert on your life. You are your most divine healer.  

You are your wisest and most skillful healer. While I am lucky to have inherited spiritual gifts I have spent two decades cultivating, I am witnessing your power and brilliance when I read your birth chart. I will spend our time together affirming your autonomy and expertise. I am not here to speak down to you or to make you feel like my knowledge supersedes your own. Even if you do not have any experience with astrology or magic you do have a lifetime of knowing yourself. Your awareness and insight is essential to the work we do together. We co-create our magical space with our collective knowledge.

When I divine I will always center the gifts and resources you have or have the potential to explore. I am not going to be pollyanna or only tell you the fun stuff. I’m not a doom and gloom practitioner (although as Capricorn stellium I am real as fuck). I will never tell you an astrological aspect or placement or tarot card means you are fucked beyond hope. I am here to affirm your skills and resources. 

I’m a trauma sensitive practitioner. 

I’ve survived immense violence. I have spent over 10 years seriously working on my trauma. I’ve worked in mental health for the same length of time and with some incredibly resilient people. I recognize that most of us have trauma and we all struggle to integrate our suffering and navigate healing. I hold confidential and sacred space for the stories and emotions that you share. And you never have to disclose anything you don’t want to. I commit to being sensitive, compassionate and kind to you. I also have skills as a mental health professional in grounding, emotional regulation and de-escalation if we need them.

Agency and volition can feel like a weight or a burden. We also know the weight of not being able to control our genetics, country of origin, ethnicity, ability, parents, socioeconomic class, etc. Our predetermined circumstances do not eliminate our moral responsibility as choice making people. Even if you think your sphere of influence is small, your choices can significantly influence the world. Astrology helps us understand the hand we were given while also showing us possible choices we can make. Astrology is a powerful tool that can interpret your life and color in specific possibilities of the infinite possibilities that exist for you.
